Переглядів 24014 днів тому
Art forms an impression on our minds. When we visualize scripture stories, it’s often in the style we’ve seen before through art. It’s easy to picture Nephi’s family on the boat, Moroni praying over the plates, Abinadi before King Noah, and more. But can you picture the women from the Book of Mormon? There’s art for them, too. Find all the art mentioned in today’s episode at bookofmormonartcata...

When your room mates Mother tells you your Not Welcome only he us welcome and verbally attacks you. But you still are kind and go and paint her house when she is away. And send stuff to make her yard pretty and spray paint the old stuff. While yoyr man mentally also abuses you and your still kind I don't think I need a marrauge counseler. I think I married the enemy. Thanks for the advice

Thank you for being incredibly brave and helping me learn to sing hymnal. I am trying to learn them, I'm new in church but I am full of joy and love and have truly had an amazing journey that led me to God. Thank God He gifted me a voice!! I sing too but idk how to sing these songs and I want to praise with my voice. My mom said that God gives us the voice we need to worship with and that's plenty. But, you weren't afraid to hit bad notes or do your best bc you're helping others learn!! Your Bravery is encouraging and many thanks for helping me!!

Melissa Inouye has several great lectures on UA-cam. She was also interested in the place of women in the LDS church. Her insights were very sociological which attracted me to her conference talks. She just spoke at a recent Mormon women's conference right before her death.

Turley and Barbara Jones Brown are both paid by and members of the Mormon Church. The Utah War never happened. US trips never came into Salt Lake City. There were no soldiers in this wagon train. People were hurt?” They were horrifically murdered. Mostly women and children. Infants had their heads bashed against wagon wheels. This was no “payback” for Mormon persecution. This was vicious slaughter to rob the dead. This was a large rich wagon train. Hard not to notice their great wealth. 40 wagons, 900 longhorn cattle, a cache of gold. Brigham Young would have noticed. He ended up wealthy because of these murders. Never describe these Mormon murderers as “good people,” because they were a violent mob motivated by greed and religious fanaticism. They were following the word of Brigham Young. He riled his followers to hate. He ended up wealthy after these murders, giving the belonging of the dead to his many wives. Turley ignores the vileness of Brigham Young keeping Paiute slaves. The coverup by the Mormon church continues. I lived in Japan as well and can’t imagine the Japanese accepting this modern day religion as their own. They are a gracious and hospitable people. Their religions are beautiful. The heads of the church are not “prophets.” They are men. And men were responsible for the horrific murdering of 129 men, women, and children at Mountain Meadows. And Brigham Young was no saint.

No response on deutero and trito Isaiah? Long ending of mark? Sermon on the mount? Tower of Babel? Global Flood? Christology in 600 BCE? DNA? Just to name a few. Soooo many things prove the BoM is not historical. I do not feel this book tackles the hard issues - just the softball ones or those that even critics agree are weak (such as Solomon Spaulding)

This video highlights the confirmation bias at the heart of Mormon revelation and prophecy. The LDS church had pilot programs that allowed missionaries to use flip-style phones in the early 2000s. By 2013, six missions in Utah and Arizona allowed missionaries to proselytize online and used digital devices. By 2015, eighty missions worldwide allowed missionaries to use smartphones. By 2019, 160 missions allowed smartphone use. Are we supposed to believe that the leaders of the church foresaw the global pandemic by making provision for smartphone use but did nothing else to prepare for it? This is beyond ridiculous.

I can actually read it! And the coolest thing is I'm not translating it to English in my mind. I'm just understanding what I'm reading. That is cool.
